By the way, I was not being derogatory to Afzal by referring to him as "old what's his face". My memory is cutting in and out today when I need it, and for a moment I couldn't think who I was talking about. That quote is what my Dad used to always say when he couldn't think of a name, and it just kind of slipped out. After a bit, I remembered and used Afzal's proper name. LOL.

Go by the dates of the comments. Some of your commentors commented on the post before this one and this one both on Oct 23, so you only get to count them once. The official count is not by clicks, not by comments, but by pages clicked on. Each page gets only one click per day for the official count. Since this post and the one before it are on the same page, the first click counts (the one on the post before) and the one for this post doesn't.

I beg to disagree, but that can happen pretty easily with the rules of this Blogit "game". For instance, You have 20 comments shown on this post (21 counting this one), and yet, only five of them count toward the placing on the Opinion popularity listing. On the other hand, "old what's his face" is playing a game with us about his love life and readers are intrigued as to who this lady might be. So people are dropping in there like flies on honey hoping to see a name, but they are not commenting. Do you remember when Afzal was #1 on both the Top Blog and Popularity Today lists for quite a long while. Then he was gone for quite a long while. You joined Blogit three years before him, and yet he has more earned money than you. He knows how to play the game.

you are probably right but I have a feeling something suspicous is going on you dont go away for 3 days and go to first place and you have to have a lot of hits to make it to 3rd place. Its like the elections some how someone knows how to work the numbers

If I was insulting you, and perhaps I was, I was also insulting myself. It has been years since I have been able to balance my checkbook and my bank account. I think that started when I got my first debit card. The thing is, the way things are run these days, how can anyone keep track of anything and completely understand what is going on. It's like you just have to accept what you are given, or drive yourself nuts trying to figure it out.

I always thought that the rankings were based on "hits" or the number of readers, not necessarily the comments left. And I must admit, I don't understand how some people's blogs get read at all, especially by non-members! Confusing . . .

As I understand it, we get paid and ranked on the number of reads we get, not the number of comments. This is all explained as you go through the process of signing on to blogit. I have found that one of the best ways to get more comments is to make comments.

I think there are people who read and do not leave anything. I believe some have a following of those. I have found my count is down and has been for some time but I think it is those reading and we are not seeing their tracks.

but still belong and pop in and read here and there. their pennies are distributed and their numbers go onto whoever they read. perhaps....don't really know.
