Re: I wonder if Guy would read/critique a manuscript of near 600 pages...
Ciel, he hasn't read mine yet. Said yesterday he's into "The Four Souls" by Louise Erdrich that I lent him a few days ago, and took her along to lunch with him. Very brief email from him this a.m., something about destiny and living in unwedded bliss. :)

I wonder if Guy would read/critique a manuscript of near 600 pages...
I have many doubts of it, as ever when I am prepping it to send out. It is sometimes necessary to see such a thing as a whole story, not as scenes or pages, outside that context, such as it tends to be seen in the editing process, where one wrangles individual words and phrases. I can't seem to read through, without stopping to make little corrections which turn into larger ifs/ands/buts...

Pat
It takes a special mother-son relationship for a son to be able to do a proper critique of his mother's work, and you and Guy clearly have that...

AS we have said before Pat, it is not the content very often, publishers are looking for reasons to sell. I expect half the publications are dribbled in by ghost writers. It is good that you can write like you do, it is a good achievement.
