For myself, integrity!
Charisma matters because it gets people's attention, but if there is nothing real and worthy beyond the act, then it is meaningless. Unfortunately in our elections in the U.S. a great many voters (self included) feel they only have the choice of voting for the lesser evil, because both parties have been severely corrupted and other party possibilities that are viable and sane don't exist...yet.

How about both? I wouldn't want someone who was very charismatic, but a political fool, nor would I want a political genius but a very unlikable cretin either! Does such a person exist out there?

It is what they can do for the country, not what they say they can do and then don't, IE unemployment around 11 % in real numbers. Now they only count those on unemployment as unemployed.

Straightforwardd
For me it is the person who will most likely do the things I believe my country's original constitution stands for not the party or the charisma. He does not have to be the smartest man about everything. He/she has to be able to judge people and choose those who will use integrity, needs of the people-not their wishes to better the nation. I don't care one Whit what he/she looks like, I do care if they have good manners, appropriate use of the English language including no vulgar use even in innuendo. Good questions lady.

It is my understanding that no one person unless it is a dictator ship
has all the say it is a party that has to be looked at because each member has people who voted for them who expect them to carry out their wishes and if they don't then they won't vote for that person again.

I think that integrity and idealogy count. The charisma varies. Some of our politicians are very charismatic while others are not. The thing with charisma is that it varies. People often speak of Bush and Obama's charisma while others look at them as the devil.

I think most stick to their preconditioned ideas and the others choose which they think will be to their advantage, not much mystery SF. Talking UK. Of course.

ÝNo less than Kennedy and Obama. The latter’s issue and they misjudged Nixon. He was raised a Quaker but went to the Episcopal(Anglican) church in Washington, D.C. love.BC-A, Bill’s R®st
