I just learned about saffron the other day, but one must be careful as some varieties are poisonous.

Times spent with Gran most definitely make memorable ones. I sometimes use saffron in my curries CC and yes, that thing about them being currency is true - I read it somewhere.

Re: Adnohr
OH! of course not Adnohr anyway I can't understand these abbreviations they use. The old Gran lived in a coal yard she had a big axe and was very often chopping blocks.
She wore a cap and my Mum said she was telling a little boy who was paying a bill for his mother that she had to hurry as she was going to Oxford. He looked at her and asked. ''Are you going to wear that cap? .''

"Did you know it was used as currency in some countries years ago. Well I suppose women were once , no ,only joking that was a long time ago."
"So I had to wash my clothes and have a shower, not only that but I trod on a rusty nail in a piece of wood yesterday, One thing I have had injections for tetanus," I am happy you've had the tetanus shot now you may get shot from some woman.

My Gran was a real Queen Victoria and we all had to defer to her wishes
and adore her......someone tell my kids this is the way to behave ...LOL...
Please take more care of you...between you and Wiley I am going white with worry.
Using women as currency????? actually now they just kidnap them and sell them into slavery......I am a grump. suffering from the flu injection.

It's fascinating the way you can tell us so much with the casual chatting within your poem! Your Gran does sound like a formidable lady! BTW, I wouldn't try using any of the Blogit ladies as currency - dangerous thought!

Re:
Well as one gets older the needle loses its fear as long as one does not watch too closely. Gran was a law unto herself, and yet she sent a boy to Oxford the first time in those days that someone other than so called gentry aspired to that privilege. He later became a Don.

Stepped on a rusty nail? Oh, no! and green slime?
Well, I had to laugh that time. Been there, in a way - welly got stuck in deep wet muck and I fell to my knees, hands went into the goo up to the elbows, so it's a fair trade, you can laugh at mine now. The muck was where the pigs live.

Those injections sound like no fun. I hate needles...Interesting moments with Gran, especially the conversation.
