I'm late to this bebate - as so often, LOL - but I think Ciel is correct: if there's only one male left (who'll take another thirteen or so years before reaching sexual maturity) the human race is doomed anyway! So she might as well do as she pleases - abort and 'enjoy' herself, LOL.
In this context: There is some evidence that we almost died out earlier.
In 2010 scientists came to the conclusion that 1.2 million years ago the breeding population of homo sapiens in Africa ranged from between 18,000 to about 25,000, tops! That's an awfully small number! One or two flu epidemics and it's curtains! (Mind you, they were rather spread out, but still...)
Maybe I'll dig out the article, which appeared in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences and post something on it...

i believe that once she was kidnapped she would scream and cuss all over

She knows. She's not given to thinking about the human race or the big picture. For her it's personal. As for the "last man" thing - in this story there is cloning, in-vitro and rationing, other means to avoid extinction. But as the last viable male through natural selection, this unborn boy is still unique.

How does she feel about parthenogenesis, in terms of a continuing future for the human race? How does she think and feel about the continuation of the human race? Having one male is not going to preserve a race. So, as far as that goes, it won't matter if she bears the child, raises him to manhood, or not. If all the rest of the males are sterile, the race is done.

I think Eve is going to have to go out into outer space and find a sperm bank on a distant planet. She will find men non-existent but a race of warrior women still keep a few penned up for the aforementioned bank. They are really sweet men , Eve is determined to become pregnant by natural means and one night when all the women are watching a pornographic encounter between two large moon flowers, Evelyn as I didn't know how to spell her name releases Aromeo.
