Now 'Camelot. ' All  about the Knights of the Round Table. well I can see you there waving your hanky at the most handsome Knight. Now I remember...

It was the movie 'Camelot'.  That is what I was thinking of when I wrote "It's Spring".

CC, you're just a little too sophisticated for me.

(but all you English are) that is why you are so fascinating!

"If I want the "HONEYED" version, knock THREE times"?  Hmmmmm Lover, tell me

what you mean....Do you HAVE a similar version?  You know, I wrote "It's Spring" after watching a movie... can't remember the title, on tip of my tongue/ but was about King Arthur and Guinevere? Somebody help me, here...

Re: Maybe it's belligerence but I just cannot train myself

If you are a true poet, it is probably "belligerence" (thanks for spelling that for me).

I am still learning 'scansion'.  I think it is nice to have something to 'lean' on, like a support, so that is why I consider it most of the time in my poems.  I have only been seriously writing for two years (this Sept).  I can look back now and compare what I did with NO count and my work is better.  So I count.

Well PP. I don't dare think what you will be writing when it is Spring. There is a certain freshness about this poem and delightful naivety that intrigues even if one does not want it too.  If you want the honey version knock three times.

Maybe it's belligerence but I just cannot train myself

Re: counting syllables

You know, it's strange, but once I learned to 'count' is difficult for me to do it any other way.  I had a terrible time understanding iambic pentameter.  But once I 'got it' now is hard for me to write otherwise.  I think "free verse" (the type of stuff you do is much more difficult), ie if it is done well.

I love the repetition in your poem of it's spring it's spring

I like the way you always count your syllables, how everything fits. I used to that years ago but felt that I lost the feeling I was trying to get out. Thanks for helping me with bacon today, it must have been a typo as it was spelled correctly when I jotted it down.
