Wow! This is an excellent post, Pat_B. I'vre read it over more than once. Deep, insightful, and a catalyst for some profound thinking.

Oh - and Happy Birthday - now that I know the real day!!

Pat

I didn't know - but I wish you a very Happy Birthday, what's left of it, and I hope the early part was pleasant and peaceful...

And your thoughts here have made some familiar strings resonate, enough so that I shall now sit back, pour myself a scotch and raise the glass in your honour...

Happy Birthday kiddo, I just replied to what I understood. I get lots of other good writing like  poetry wrong too. Time for me to take a Blogit break I think.

Happy happy birthday Pat . My this was a lot of deep thinking. I was only thinking myself when I read that we probably originated from rocks that seed life across the universe, it was a bit depressing. Although we still have the ability to be kind and comfort each other. I wonder if that is an unique virtue or if Angels actually exist in some form as a more enlightened  species

What profound thoughts on your special day.   Yes, it is always now, everything else is only thoughts, wishes or memories.  May your thoughts be always special, your wishes all come true, and your memories sparkle in your writing for us to enjoy.  Happy Birthday.

I've kind of brought it all down to comparing myself to a leaf, just waiting to be blown off the oak in the fall, the tree lives on and the leaf simply returns to the earth. The joke of it all is, we people have no more significance than that leaf and whatever anyone of us has done, is of no more matter than what the leaf did in its life, we lived, enjoyed life or not, we died, we returned to the earth. Maybe it's all about depression.
