You are so right about the tunnels in the White Cliffs of Dover and the use of this during WWII. But, it can't really be called a "rock" as the cliffs are composed mainly of soft, white chalk with a very fine-grained texture and large sections fall into the sea now and then. Tourist atop the cliffs are warned to stay well back from the edge. Also, I don't believe there was ever a complete hospital incorporated into the Dover Cliffs.

I was sure it was the cliffs of Dover where they extended tunnels already
there from a couple hundred years ago and they extended them.
