That's too bad on your car! I hope you don't get stranded but at least you have taken measures for help in the event it happens! sam

TAPS

I am sorry about your car and for Phil hope he can understand this.I got a mobile phone years ago because of that very thing. My car gave out and today there are no phones on the corner, you may not want to go to that corner anyway. I was fortunate a neighbor showed up took me home and hubby went back for the car, soon after we had to lay that car to rest. I don't even have a land line anymore, we both have cells and love them.

Oh dear, it's always a pain trying to be prepared for the end of a car.  Perhaps it will last for a while longer...

You are absolutely right...Never get caught without your floss. You know us Mormons try to build up a years supply.

Snacks, toilet paper and dental floss. I guess these would constitute "the basics?"

Well my RAV is 13 years old Taps and I don't care who scratches it any longer. We become attached to the old dears, but it looks like curtains for your old lady. Could you and son not share the next? Poor old doggy looks like it has had its chips, I suppose to put a dog to sleep is miserable, but one has to be brave, I let mine die naturally but I often wondered if it was cruel to see him sick although he ate up to his last night.

The cycle...I'm driving a limper myself at the moment..:)

Wanting to wait 'til the prices on hybrids come down more; hopefully soon, lol. Good luck and safety on the road, Dear TAPS! I hope Rocky doesn't have anything serious wrong with him; sounds like a deep bond.

I'd part with the car before you begin to resent it for not staying

reliable, and regret giving it so much attention and this is how he repays you... Or he lets you down and leaves you vulnerable and alone in a dangerous situation. It happens.

Enough joking around -- I'm so sorry about Phil's doggie. Now that's a relationship we never want to end.

I think the car had a good owner so it sort of gave back what it got..hope you had a good nap.

There was a woman of goodly years who so loved her old car

that when it could go no further, she had it crushed down and used it as a coffee table.

I'm sorry for Phil's old pup... But letting them go as easily as possible is the debt we owe for the years of joy they have given us.  And truly, I believe they remain around just as long as we need them.

You're right - everything has its end. And it hurts each time something or someone we love goes away from us. But Kabu is right - we have to look forward, because that's the way it is. Damn it!

Sad about your car and sad about Phils old doggie. No, nothing is forever

OK enough looking back, now get on with getting a new and exciting car to replace a dear old friend that has serviced your driving needs for as long as she can.
