Ciel

70-80-90?  Having just come back from Europe, where 120 in the fast lane is normal, I find that awfully slow...

You will outlive them all!

Feel better? Don't worry . . . your situation and feelings are not isolated, or unique. And I don't believe this behavior is necessarily a "macho" thing, because I've witnessed many, many, many women guilty of the same offenses. And you know why people drive so fast? Because they can! When cars were first manufactured, the top speed was around 25 mph. Now, if I wanted to, I could push my car to 100 mph! I wouldn't . . . but I could, because someone made it possible! Remember: you can't teach common sense, and common courtesy seems to be withering on the vine as well!

Once upon a time when professionals were the most likely drivers. one would pull into the curb on foggy or rain dazzling between lights and let the other vehicle pass safely. Once I was driving along a main road at thirty. My dad tapped my hand. 'You are doing thirty,

old man.'

I also hate when they ride your bumper all the way and if you won't get over then they slam on the accelerator and speed pass you while yelling at you to get over then cut over in front of you and then brake every couple of seconds....what an a**wipe!

Then there is the guy who is coming down the entrance ramp with a yield sign who is honking at you, flipping you off and trying to force you to let him in either by cutting off the guy next to you or slamming on your brakes....

Wow!  That made me feel better to vent!

excellent post and I drive the speed liit. I am living on a permanent

resident card in this country and I am twice as aware of the laws because i could be deemed an undesirable and sent packing. Soooo they tail gate me with lights flaring and gleaming and I feel impotent rage. ...I give it to God to deal with because me I want to give them the bird!!

Re: UtahJay, that is more community-minded than most drivers!

In a world of confusion I find it less stressful for me to pray for those less wise than myself...Especially at 80 miles per hour.
