hello, Duracell! Welcome to my corner of Blogitland!
The thing to realize is that all these others are not really others: they are parts of our selves, little fragments that we created at various times as keepers of truths that we learned along the way. They are our 'inner children' that influence our choices and decisions, and they are doing what we assigned them to do. But they have not all kept up with our growth and changes as human beings.
I wrote about the Parts Model back in the first pages of my Universe blog, if you want a clearer description. Or here in my blogspot where I recently updated those posts:

I like this...
Beautiful. I struggle to accept others and their faults sometimes. Now I'll just bring them to the table and let them sit arms length from me.

What an interesting post. For a bit I looked around to see if Edgar Allen Poe was on the sidelines. Well written.

Re:Thanks, Pat!
Wouldn't it be nice if 'simple' was the same as 'easy'?
It does work, though... to turn inward as in meditation, and say 'hello' to all those little bits of self wandering around, thinking it's all about them. Some interesting conversations can ensue!
