i would love to have a garden but there are too many scavengers like rabbits, squirrels, mice....

Good for you. I have a Rosemary Plant and the smell is delicious.
I will cit it back soon and place the cut parts in plastic bags and freeze them. Rosemary with roast Lamb, galic and little roast potatoes.
