Go to Life in the fast lane--where's the on ramp?Add a commentGo to Speaking of cantankerous geezers...

So far none of our immediate family has been in a home, taking their last breath living with family still. My kids are telling me not to worry - they'll keep me - then they mentioned using a pressure washer to wash me down if I get to the diaper stage..so maybe I'll should check out a home! Love the way you make your characters so real!

I have a sister in her mid 80's who is going down hill fast, and the state and her older sister are barking at her heels to move into a care facility...Its a mess.

I've already psyched myself up to know that sooner or later it will happen to me as payback for being in charge of doing it to my mom and dad.  I am determined that whatever state I am in (when it comes) therewith to be content.

Giving up independence, that's one of the hardest things,

Not just for support, but when other people take away your decision-making.

that's it, I am staying here in Canada at North Camelot for always if

Gof forbid something ever happened to our Wiley. No kid is going to move me, put me in a home and if I talk to the Gnomes and they amswer me back...that is my business. Sounds like it is nice to meet with Patrick for coffee and chat some times.

my lebanese grandmother was feisty....she was still walking up and down hills at a fast pace and never liked to stay in one place for long until the day she died in her nineties

It would be nice in a way Pat, if we knew within say couple of years when we would kick the bucket. We could then work out how much we could spend each year and have a few luxuries like cream buns and real cream ice creams and expensive bottles of wine that do not taste kind of mousy, but knowing our luck we would probably live 10 years longer. I wonder what happened to Pan, we both told her what to do perhaps she is convalescenting.
