Re: Re:Adnohr, if it's the Monopoly allusion, the joke depends on
knowing that, of all the real estate properties that you move across in the game, Boardwalk is the best, whereas Connecticut is pretty low-rent. Therefore, when the time comes to bargain and make swaps, it's hard for the player in the cartoon to overlook the fact that Vlad earned his nickname, etc. etc.

Re: Re: Re: PPS You think CC, Lion, and Shobana are getting any of this?
See that! I'm really dense today: I missed Jay's clever joke and didn't realize that Monopoly was played in England, too. With pound notes, I suppose? Monopoly was a great rainy-day game for us kids in 2902. We didn't cheat, exactly, but we did buy things like Free Parking and Go and Do not Pass Go. The true bloodsucking capitalist spirit!

Probably not Bob but by all that's unfair in this life no one is going to tell you. Anyway we always cheated at Monopoly and it better to feel like a fool than provide a duff answer.

Re: That last made me laugh!
What I liked especially was the cartoonist's restraint - he didn't make it Mediterranean or Baltic!

Re:My son lives in Philly and sent me a beautiful "coffee-table book"
with color photos of the murals. They are in big scale and strike the eye from a block away, They're done with incredible skill. I'm amazed by how the artist kept the scale right. Maybe I should read the book.
