He sounds quite human, I always found them very good or they believed they

could authorize God's decisions with their signature. My Ca. surgeon was one of those that make you feel that he has one important patient ....YOU....but I've worked with some ......and have had some great stand in the corridor arguments when I was nursing!!!

Yes indeed. My son in law writes novels and just got his first one published. He always researches very thoroughly all aspects of his book. Going so far as to interview folks who work in the fields he is writing about. Now if he would just research the twenty bucks he owes me.

So glad the gall bladder is all done and over and a thing of the past.
I love good geography in a novel.  I definitely watch for it especially if I'm familiar with the area.

Heh... I've always wondered who 'the lay of the land' was...

It is heartening indeed to know that surgeons like yours are out there.

Re: CCT - "do you lose many?"

Would he tell you if he did? That wouldn't be a way to inspire confidence, and a patient needs to believe he's got a great prognosis and that he's in good hands. And this old girl also likes to see every nurse, every tech, every doc, use the germ-killing foam every time they come into the room and touch anything...

Re: Adnohr - "I would still like to throw him to the wolves,"

I'm still sad you lost Bird, still think of those wonderful posts about him, still wish I could have known him.  As for the arrogant medic, that facade is a thin shield - he knows full well the odds are against him.

How comforting Pat , good guys like that deserve a Knight-hood. I am afraid to say when I went into the Hospitable for a minor Op. I asked the surgeon's assistant , 'do you lose many?'

You found a gem there, Pat_B. Bird's lung specialist was of the former category, I would still like to throw him to the wolves, the little 'Just call me God' strutter!!
