Well Ceil not many gardeners here so I can't say I have been picking caterpillers off next years purple sprouting as I usually rely on the wasps to help me, but they are few and far between this year.

You reminded me that long ago I painted stockings (for my sanity). My four sons were all wee tots at the same time (ages two, four, five and seven). It did seem as if their little feet and legs were all the same size and yet there was a difference in the fitting of them. I got some fabric paint pens and painted little pictures of their choosing on them so that they could tell their socks apart.
