A delightful read, and I imagine that each of us can think back to someone or some family that is remembered for special actions or ways. I'll be looking forward to your poem too.

I'm not sure what psychologist's move you mean, agreeing with the patient's rant?  My memory seems to be that the wine was an essential part - she was always kind of depressed at the best of times, but this sent the poor dear spinning out of control.I think the fact that it was Mrs. Riegert of all people that had the lasting effect in the days to come.   It was a bond of sorrow.

closure on my father's death, and I learned something about all the forms that compassion can take.

and that what she did with your Mother is a phsychologists move that we learned in University. It actually works is very healing....but alcohol isn't usually applied by a professional.LOL
