Re:

Perhaps, Against! I suppose you may have been recalling a recent posting of mine where I explained the differences between an irony and a coincidence. Well, I guess I don't need a "brain-teasing" gnome to clarify that it probably was just a coincidence! Ironic, huh?

Re: JimmyA

That's nice to read too, Wiley. I just thought that Kabu would get the biggest kick out of this particular tale, seeing how many of these "woodland fellows" have made a home there in Camelot with you two! So, if you find any tiny socks laying around in your yard, be forewarned that Matthew may have finally made his way into your territory!

Re:

I usually am too, FSI, except in the dead of winter! There is nothing as big a "shock to the system" as stepping onto an ice cold tiled floor in the middle of January! Then, whether your toes have wiggle room or not, you'll be glad you had those socks on!

Re:

Perhaps, luster. Perhaps not! In fact, I was actually somewhat surprised when I read Kabu's comment that she didn't inform me that "Matthew" had already infiltrated her own camp, and was still struggling to get that sock off! Hmmm . . . she may become jealous after all!

Re:

That's probably true, adnohr. Although my old buddy and I did keep in touch on and off over the years, we had recently began to really drift apart . . . until that chance meeting. So, like my wife likes to remind me from time to time, things seem to always happen for a reason! I guess that was it! And as for those "live" gnomes of yours, I'd keep a sharp eye on them if I were you! One may be easily handled, but three . . . ?

Re:

Thanks, Justi. I'm glad. Not every blog has to be either so serious or so disheartening. It's good to put a smile on people's faces once in a while!

Re: just love it and i have inside Gnomes as well as outside ones

Will do, Kabu ( although I don't need much prompting to do that! )   Glad you enjoyed my little tale. And see? By having only one gnome, I don't have to worry about "petty jealousies" or grumbling amongst anyone! And "Matthew" is easy to keep clean too! As long as the luck keeps flowing . . .

Now is that coincidental?  Or is it ironic?  Maybe a brain-teasing gnome can tell us!

JimmyA

Oh I don't 'gnome' that Kabu will be the only one to appreciate that, we all will.

I can just picture Matthew the gnome fiddling with his socks...At home I myself am a barefoot sort of guy.

too late Kabu read this. I know she must be jealous of your Gnome

A post worth more than one chuckle! I enjoyed reading it too, and this gnome thing will have us all looking for them to brighten our homes. Actually - I have 3 live ones at the moment, so I think I'll wait.  I don't believe in coincidence, so at the risk of sounding like a physic, you were meant to meet that old friend at the time you did. Ah, but I do believe in mystery....now why?
