It doesn't sound as if you're getting in much sightseeing, but you are

certainly getting a taste of life there that tourists never see.

Re:

sorry to hear that but im sure something is better than nothing and i dont know if they would let you bring food or drink in the embassy.....very picky about what they allow in...one question...what did they do for you?

I spent a day in an Embassy in Madrid once after a gypsy picked my pocket (purse) and stole my money and passport.  I would have loved to have had some "pate with romy" to snack on while I was bored with waiting.

yes it is very cheap....it has to be with what people make here....some make $100 a month and that is working 5 to 6 days full time!

All that running around in circles, you really take my mind back to

when I first arrived here. We were so tired eventually.

It seems as though food is very cheap in Egypt ...we used to grow figs in Australia. I love to halve a fresh fog and rub the two sides together to release the juices and enhance the flavour.

Annicita

Annicita,I travelled to Morocco in the 50's but I had it a lot easier than you. I was flying with the RCAF. LOL Loved the fruit there too and how inexpensive it was. Great posts these and toay I went way back in your blogs and read that well written one about Catholicism, I'm a retired ex-Catholic too. LOL
