Re:

Well, Annicita, like I thought, any publicity would be better than no publicity. But you're right . . . you can only fool a firefly twice! I'm no longer sure if I would want to contribute to such a poorly run magazine anyway!

well its a blessing for us fellow blogit members....and a loss for them...

who would want to write for someone who keeps you dangling like that anyway?  you get instant feedback from us and paid next month...!!!

Re:

Yeah, TAPS, your story was a lot simpler than mine! LOL  In fact, I honestly don't remember how I actually came upon Blogit itself. I think I may have been looking for something else entirely, but it seemed like a good opportunity to get some of my thoughts, ideas and opinions down in writing and dispersed amongst the masses. And the writing continues . . .

What an interesting post.   My own story is a whole lot shorter--one day I ran across Blogit on the internet and immediately joined up.  End of story.  LOL

Re: JimmyA

I guess it's sort of like boxing, eh Wiley? You probably have to take a lot of bumps and bruises while fighting your way to the "top." I'm not sure though if this episode would be considered a bump or a bruise! And of course you're right . . . you can't cure rude, or inconsideration, or unprofessionalism, or . . .

Re:

Thanks, FSI. Well, I guess that would be the "confidence" approach . . . feeling as though it was their loss for rejecting me. I'm always willing to learn from my mistakes, take constructive criticism, and expand my horizons. But I would still like to know what those mistakes may have been! At first I was leaning on "no news is good news," but to do it to me twice? I'm not so sure anymore . . .

Re:

Thanks, luster. No, I never forget what I have accomplished to this point. But as far as my "writing career" is concerned, I sometimes feel as though I'm still stuck on the bottom few rungs. Nothing wrong with trying to climb the ladder a little more, with more exposure and more publicity, is there?

Re:

I certainly hope so, adnohr. Your philosophy is very similar to my wife's. She too always feels that things happen for a reason. Perhaps one day I will bite the bullet and send them an e-mail. Nothing nasty, but I may appear somewhat disgruntled over their "lack of etiquette." Meanwhile, I will keep writing and posting, hopefully for everyone's enjoyment . . .

Re: You are a special writer and you are writing in a special place.

Once again, thanks for the special compliment, Kabu. Of course you're right. Those types of magazines are primarily money-makers for the advertising industry ( and probably the publishers as well ). But as a "struggling writer," I've always felt that any publicity was better than no publicity! Regardless, I still felt I was owed at least some indication as to whether or not my proposal was excepted! Who knows? I may still hear from them for the following issue . . .

Being rejected is like making you a real author, and you can't cure rude.

I wonder why they just won't tell you...Judging from your entries, they're missing out on a lot.

sounds like you are well accomplished anyway, so dont forget that

Yep - the luck is on our side - we get to read you because they don't. I would contact them again and remark on their lack of etiquette at least! Everything happens for a reason, and I expect something much better will be coming out of the experience - either with the magazine or here in Blogit.

You are a special writer and you are writing in a special place.

One doesn't have to be a Rocket Scientist to realize that Blogit pennies won't make you rich but here, one gets published and read every day and by people who are interested. We get and give feed back and encouragement and best of all, we become friends. Actually I find those magazines annoying for thsy are just a money machine. The only people that count to the owners are the cash flow of add money.
