Yes poor things need a bit of quality Lion. A bit of a enigma being a vet I suspect, stick to machines.

there is such focus on prolonging life at all costs in the medical profession that it has drifted over into many people's attitude about their pets. I tend to think that the animal is doomed to a tortured life of agony and imobility then it's probably best to let them go.

Re:PAT.
Pat you can explain things better than I can, thank you dear. The goose was actually standing last night and ate some wholemeal bread which she seems to like, perhaps the sunshine helped.

Re: Pannonian
Perhaps most think it would fun to make some cash which of course is an illusion. However one looks at it, one may be warding off dementia. Secretly though one does not find much criticism though whether that is good or not is debatable.

Thank you for reading and commenting on the Iran Diary. Absence of comment by bloggers doesn't worry me too much it is always welcome though. it would be interesting to analyse why people write here. Indeed, why people keep a diary at all. Is it for one's self or is it for others to read? thanks again.

I love the poem. Cannot tell you how much.
It is the stuff of old time country ballads, sad and worn and accepting what fate has bestowed, not complaining, an infinitely more emotional read for this. Our old soul in the overcoat is "everyman" -- someone we've seen and made invisible in our mind. Never mind the absence of the flower; this was all I needed.
Poor old goose. At least she hasn't ended as supper for the fox.

My heart isn't beating as sadly as the heart in your poem, I had an echocardiogram today and all is happily pumping along. I think it would be kinder for you to take care of things yourself, you have the compassion Goose needs at such a time in life.
