Go to Life in the fast lane--where's the on ramp?

- Go to Oscar Pistorius / "Blade Runner"
That is a shame. Instead of looking at this man for inspiration, people go the opposite route and try to tear down or undermine his determination. Yes, medals or no medals, he's already won!

Yes it would be a can of worms to open it and Kabu voiced her opinion rather strongly about it. Some things are just better left alone. LOL

My husband and I watched this controversy on television a few weeks ago. Your post was our reaction exactly. I did not think at that time that he would be allowed to compete. This is too stupid to be decided on anything but the reality in the running now. Thanks for posting this.

For me, he is already a Golden Boy for if people don't believe that he has
overcome adversity they should try needing the bathroom at three in the morning urgently and have no legs!!!

I love watching him run. It makes it see like all things are possible if one doesn't give in to adversity.

A great post, Pat_B, and Amen to what you're saying. Those who complained should be offered the choice to compete whole or to be fixed up like Pistorius. He had no choice.

Re: WileyJohn, the question of steroids "or whatever"
Oh, WileyJohn, what a can of worms it would be to open that discussion... "natural" vs "enhanced," etc. To me it would make a difference, but I've heard good points made on both sides of the argument, so I'm open to discussion. One thing: doping is a voluntary thing, a decision, while loss of a limb or two (in this case) is involuntary, a condition that must be overcome. In the peak of my physical condition, I would not have qualified in any case, so I am in awe of those who do.

My only thought is that being that Oscar is allowed to run as an Olympian, then all drug testing ought to be stopped too. Whether the body is altered by steel, or steeled by the use of steroids or whatever, shouldn't make a whit of difference don't you think luv? Not an argument, just something Kabu and I have chatted about. Have a happy weekend luv.
