Re: Pannonian - "we might have met" --

I don't know the Dinee phrase for get well soon, but I do know their good wishes are for one to live in harmony with nature and other people, which if you think about it is living well. I'm looking at Pannonian and wondering if it's an Armenian name. My favorite author is William Saroyan, and his writings are full of wonderful examples of those folkways. You were so lucky to have a brother in Vancouver. :)

Re: Taps - so far I've toughed it out...

I know hospitals are scary, but you know the drill. You can follow through, lessen the potential for error - and here's the thing - the older you get the more fragile the veins and slower the recovery. It's no fun to have an IV blow and have to have it put in another spot. I was beginning to feel like a pincushion, but Nurse Betty came by and that one didn't even leave an after-bruise. So don't wait until you're howling in pain... :)

Re: CCT - pity I can't give you a basinful of my stewed beef....

I don't think so CC - not after hearing your not-so-appetizing description of it. But thanks for the kind impulses. Maybe a handful of carnations, but you share flowers every day, so you've already done that. Be well, my friend. :)

That was funny I thought where's  Pat got to, I know you had not been feeling very well.

One always thinks 'did I say something that upset her, but then you have had a rather traumatic time lately even before this little problem. Anyway it is nice to have you back a pity I can't give you a basinful of my stewed beef to build you up.

I'm so glad it went well.  I'm afraid one of these days I just might be in the same boat.  So far every time I've had an episode, I've toughed it out, but that B/P is nothing to mess around with.  Get well quickly Lady.

PatB

You are a brave little soldier and deserve a big PatB (Pat on the back). I could tell you stories about my gallbladder until the cows come home but the story isn't worth the price of the pixels on your screen and not telling it will save you a small fortune (the cost of the pixels). Anyway, you are better off without it – I think.

If they remembered to reduce the blood-thinner before surgery, they probably have a masters degree in medicine (irony). I guess the procedure was what they call ‘keyhole surgery’ so you won’t have an awful lot to show for it when you undress. I hate hospitals. They are dangerous places. Damn useless little things … gallbladders and appendices.

You know what? You and I may have met. In the late sixties/early seventies I used to visit my brother in Vancouver and on a couple of occasions we drove south to Point Roberts in Wa., just across the border, to have afternoon tea in a cute little tea-house there. So, if you were …

In any event, we have something in common; we are both thirty-fivers, I think.  Not a bad vintage that.

What’s the word the Dinee people use for “get well soon”?

Glad you're back and doing well. My wife had her gall bladder removed last October, and it was a tough experience but well worth it. She had been getting steady abdominal pains on and off for several years, and it was finally determined that the ol' gall bladder must say Bye-Bye! But with the advance of modern medicine, her operation was non-intrusive, and she's doing fine. In fact, she somehow managed to lose 30 lbs. since then! So, you never know! Now get back to writing . . . !

Pat

Glad you are back and doing well. I am sorry you have been in pain but I guess that blood pressure spike was worse than the pain. Take good care of yourself. May you be blessed.

Oh darling, I just knew something was wrong and have been fretting about it

we got back Sunday and since then no Pat ....well I was painting another Rock and Wiley said Pat's back so I had to come and read.

Now you just take life easy and recover, you have had a shock and rest and whatever the medications that the Dr. prescribed must be taken like a good Woman that you are....sensible to follow advice at present.

(here I leave hugs and little kisses on your dear cheeks.)
