That the speakers they use are of good quality and maybe the folks who can't understand you have particularly poor speakers.

For me, speaking over an intercom is akin to getting up on a stage in front of a crowd. Neither is really a pleasant experience, at least not in my book!

I remember the intercom at school. People were discussing the people who spoke often.
