about evictions -- check certain laws of state and city -- here where i live -- i once sent complaint about a landlord who didnt want to put screens in -- was told (and it is even more so now -- U.S. laws) that is very hard to evict -- takes everal onths and money -- so landlords usually don't due to it is more trouble than it's worth -- check the laws regarding that to be sure.
but i got the screens in and stayed for another 6 months until i found a better place and moved out
it stared with me just wanting a screen on the back door and one front windwo -- ended with him having to put screens in every window in every apartment of the 4 family flat.
