I really liked the ending to the poem! And I hope you are feeling better by now for I think I would have taken the pain killer and said the heck with suffering! sam

That flower is exquisite, you are an artist of flowers and Kabu paints rocks. Shutting your eyes is only good for the remembrances of love, ach, that's all that matters really. Lovely poem.

Re: Naut

Well Naut I think the lucky ones would have had a whale of a time but we only hear of those.

Re:pat

PAT i suppose folk used more perennials in the past, I seem to remember fox gloves, Holly hocks etc, the garden firms want folk to buy pretty annuals that need renewing pretty quickly. I notice one catalogue suggested plan for next year now, that seemed a bit hopeful.

Oh I expect the weather is ideal for them, really they could do with a cover in this weather over here. Just going to take one for a start.

Re: Ray

Thank you Ray, I suppose the flower would not be accepted in a show but that's how the world looks at things.

I loved the flower. The poem was magnificent. The pain, the joy and the peace of it all. Great.

Beautiful carnation - it reminds me of my Spring Prom - a good time it was! I felt yearning in the poem too. Sometimes we need to just sit back and feel that, don't we?

Lovely, sad yearning, CCT...very heartfelt

And the carnation is a speckled beauty!

I love the carnation. Reminds me of long ago and Mom's

blooming English style garden, banks of flowers against other, taller blooms, etcetera...

And as to this one: No pink carnation? I haven't had a white sport coat in a long time either...

And when I read your poem, I realized it's not only me who has times like that...

I have friends who made the trip in the other direction shortly after India and Pakistan gained their independence in '47. They were very young at the time, and remember their early childhood in India fondly, but I guess as far as their parents were concerned the bloom was off the lotus...

Oh yes, and I do like your poem...
