Good question. I'm sure that, after a bit of "exploring," there may be other writing venues similar to Blogit. Personally, I have no interest in Facebook at all, whether it's free or not. Not only is it probably too personal for my tastes, but I don't think it's conducive to my "writing style." But, we must forge ahead. As they say, a writer writes . . . always! Sometimes it's just a matter of where!

Well Ray, in a way it is a comfort zone one rarely gets a slap and if this does happen a fiery little dragon soon crushes the would be villainous perpertrator with a few choice suggestions. Of course it does get on one's nerves sometimes as like a family and one has to adjust, but of course in a family one usually says what one feels and trouble breaks out. Here we must swallow our differences and behave correctly, I think most do not last here because a new person usually receives acclamation, but no advice as to the way of returning the compliment. The old stage-rs pat the dragon on the bum and do not get burned.
This does not relate to anyone living or drunk. Only me who does not get the chance.

blogit friends come and go and Summer time holds other interests.
I would find it tough if blogit folded but i am not expecting that to happen. I am afraid that I am addicted.

I dont think Blogit will lose in any way - always new writers joining the fray Katray. I write on facebook too and only limited to family members and friends but I don't think it is a venue for writers to read the work of others and have a chance to comment and be commented on. FB is more of an interaction thing I feel and a venue for gossip.

I believe there will always be enough people joining to keep Blogit afloat! After all I doubt their overhead is very high and I would venture a guess that most of what they take in is profit! I do not put my poetry at any other site! And, soon there won't be much of mine on this site! sam

Re:
Good point, FSI. People do develop other interests or have conflicts of time, etc. that necessitate leaving Blogit.

Re: I went to FB but lack of communication and a deeper
Yes, I know what you mean, marlindanse. FB is mostly about daily reality, not much interest by many there in the quality or value of writing. Blogit beats 'em easily in that category and in being able to have your work appraised (for lack of a better word..:) by other writers.
Thank you for commenting..

I went to FB but lack of communication and a deeper
feeling of 'writer's room' brought me back to Blogit...

I am not certain that it is necessarily Facebook. Looking at three people I know (UtahJay, Ariala and Shelly), I see different reasons for all leaving.
