Yeah, it is pretty bad out there, no matter what your field may be. But from what I've been reading and hearing, certain types of persistance can really pay off. Best of luck to your daughter.

The squeaky wheel gets the grease so she may as well keep calling them until she gets an answer! Who would even have a clue why they don't respond; but she needs to be proactive so that she gets a job! sam
