I read this yesterday, got distracted and didn't comment..'til now..:)
This took me back to those playground days wonderfully - such innocence yet still even as kids, we had clues about the grown-up order of things, lol. I remember the angst of "going steady" as opposed to just "going with." Steady meant exclusive while the other meant basically an open relationship and woe to any grade schooler who didn't follow the protocol, haha. Anyway, great post, Strat!
