I cannot imagine someone slitting his own throat.
I never could imagine the Japanese hari kari thing either.
I don't even like pricking my finger to test my blood sugar.  I squint and squirm and grit my teeth.

Re: Re: I am wondering if when Cal. slit his throat if he didn't get some help when

Re: I am wondering if when Cal. slit his throat if he didn't get some help when

Kabu, it seems so unlike you to think our dear Iris would do such a thing. I think she was a feminist 30 years ahead of her time, (this happened in the late '40s) who just exercised her woman's right to a little respect with the first one. As for old Cal - she didn't need to protect herself from him; she wore the pants in that situation.

Iris seems alright I wouldn't mind her as an houskeeper especially as I don't worry about little things like lumpy gravy. It is how I make it and if she can drive a truck ,well what more can a man want. Keep it secret though Pat.

I am wondering if when Cal. slit his throat if he didn't get some help when

Pat

Count me among the suspicious souls who thought Iris might have had a hand - or, in that case, a foot - in the demise of her first husband, LOL, and even in that of Number two...In any case, a fascinating story...

A marvelous read and when you wrote 'the clutch slipped' I thought at first you were speaking metaphorically about Cal's mind. LOL That getting pinned to the barn door was justice, goody for Iris I say.

Re: adnohr -- could she have mentally aided Cal

I don't think so. I think he was just fragile and perhaps oversensitized by health issues.

I highly suspected that Iris had a hand in her first husband's end too when I read your story. COuld she have mentally aided the second one, you think? Just by pushing the right buttons?
