Well, that wasn't long, but it surely did hold my attention.

Pat

What a story! And I agree with Kabu - I think the Cal-Iris relationship could use some development. Lumpy gravy as a cause for divorce seems a bit, well, thin...

That was a great short story and very personal to me of course 'cuz I came close as a drunk to doing away with myself. Well written luv.

great short story that could certainly be padded out into a bigger story.

But I find here most folk can only be bothered with the short version. LOL. CC and the lumpy gravy quip made me giggle.

Well I hope she kept the house Pat .  These things sometimes go with a promise.   Sometimes little things trigger a stupid response as you have rightly shown. I thought gravy had lumps.

Re: Adnohr - blanket by the side of the road....

That is weird! I hear the theme from the Twilight Zone in the background... brrr.

Wow - that's some ending. Last night, driving to visit Suzie, I glimpsed what looked like a blanket in the ditch along the bush road. I went past - but had to turn and go back and check it out. Needless to say your story was stuck in my mind. Happily it was just an old piece of of material, full of holes, that had probably blown out of the back of somebody's truck.
