I would give just about anything for some cool weather! We are going to be 100+F for the next few days then it cools down to the high 90'sF! There is a fire burning about 30 miles from my town and that's alway a concern because it can fry a lot of the desert in a short time! I am ready for some low 90's weather though! sam

Re: Wiley

Well Wiley you know what it is a bit of the old flannel. If you have ever been soaked you will know how those roses feel.

Sad looking flowers, they look like what I would grow.LOL That Archie needs a slap upside the head, that'll get the lawn mowed alright. Enjoyed the gentle poetry, not sure if a woman is like a rose all the time, I've known a couple more like cactii

Re: Kabu

Hi Kabu , well I have to see if swinging a strimmer makes my life any worse. Or if I should buy a smaller mower for next year. I don't know what I can say about the Doctor he took my blood pressure readings for the last few days . I said 'They are a bit high?' He said they are alright. When did you last have a blood test?' I told  him one year ago, He said better have another, testing for four things. He rattled them off, I said 'what can you do for rheumatism?' He said ,'Nothing. take a paracetamol. I said . I feel sleepy at times, but I realised he had gone to sleep himself.  The last Doctor I went to, I said I have never heard the result of my blood test, Her repiy '' There are eight of us and four thousand of you.'

I said 'Do you have to take it in turns to swab out the toilets, Hopefully they let one know if the test is fatal. So you see dear that is all that happened, but the Doc is retiring in September so a new young one might be on the ball.  Nearly forgot your pills.

Re: Surely this is an old photo and you have no snow...

Pat this was taken yesterday it was to show the excess or rain perhaps I used flash mode as it was overcast. Really I do not envy you though, too much of a good thing me thinks.

This is our summer but even the tomatoes in the greenhouse are looking a bit weary.

Re:adnohr

Now adnohr there is a romantic soul BC-A . . It is all a bit of fun really, I mean one would never get to speak to women of this calibre normally, such sweet unhibited virile specimens , probably have the dogs set on me.

Re:

Justi he was down early to get the blooms for the flower show I had to put waterproof gear on to pick them, if I was younger I would not bother and do it myself.

Re: Taps

And it keeps raining Taps, but that is the joy of a normal English Summer as I remember.

ReJay:

It would have been nice Jay, but that was a time when probably it was the last thing you thought about.

My dad was in the iris society and all he could think of in the spring was iris and which ones would win the ribbon. I wish I would have saved all his ribbons come to think of it.

Those roses are so pretty. I loved the poem it is so romantic. Archie is just going to have to get his bum in gear or we will hire a good yard man and soon.

Surely this is an old photo and you have no snow...

That would just be too unfair and ironic - it's the 9th day in a row over 100 degrees, and we're due for at least one more - the high today's supposed to be the hottest ever in St. Louis - and my little town is in the wider metro area. I'm just layin' low, biding my time, thinking of cool wet places.

Those roses are so pretty and I wish that you would leave the grass

I worry about your health. You never did satisfy us after the trip to the Dr.

I cannot get over how hot it has been. Then with all the snow you got it's been one wacky weather time period...I wonder if that kiss will come...
