I'm with TAPS - love the post, can remember the song, and could see myself and Bird running around playing with you all at that age. The only horses we had were the ones on the farm, and I used to daydream of one day seeing a wild herd go roaring past. I would be hard put to live in that kind of heat, Pat-B. Will take good ole Canadian winter anyday!!

I love this post.  I'm singing along with you and wishing I could have run around playing with you when you were nine or ten.

Pat

I too remember some of those cowboy ballads, though I can't remember the last time I heard one. One can still occasionally hear some of the jazz of that era, though...

Many songs can evoke many thoughts and memories, but I'm not sure which ones bring rain . . . or can restore power!

I remember that song Pat I suspect it was on a western film, I don't how else, unless it was in the fifties or on an old record. Was it not strange as kids we could go off for hours, well usually arrived back for tea. Such flippant remarks as an old lightening hit stump. 'That's the devil's night chair,' as we went on regardless. I bet kids would turn back smartish today,

I cannot get used to the rule up here that 3 days of temp. in the 90's

is declared a heat wave. Wagga Wagga can have 2 months when the Temp drops to 98 at night, stays around 107 every day.

I like the Summer up here. LOL

Keep cool dear one. You are precious to us.
