Well Ray this celebration is new to me, but I guess it is nice to feel somehow united in spirit even if the old traditions die hard. Rather good to have mixes of blood I suppose we all came from a small gene pool once. I know the heat must be exhausting for you, we have hardly seen the Sun for a month, drip , drip, rain, but that the way it is.

It is my way, obviously not original, to describe anyone who is not Caucasian. I can understand that it may be seen as politically correct and not an apt portrayal of skin color, but ridiculous is in the eye of the beholder and to me, it sounds appropriate.

I can appreciate and respect your thoughts and opinions, and for the most part, agree with everything you've said. Just one question though . . . what exactly is a person "of color?" The last time I checked, my skin wasn't transparent. Technically, everyone on the planet is a person of color. Is this just another ridiculous "politically correct" term people use from time to time? Believe me, I'm not trying to "start" anything. I just don't fully understand these terms sometimes!
