I believe Ben and Smooch would become best friends. They seem to have alot in common - determination when chasing little running creatures, balls, and that plausible deniability!

I'm sorry to hear about Jag, I wondered what happened to him but only guessed it until your I read affirmation now. Yeah, territorial interference can get quite ugly..

I'm glad it wasn't a bear.  If you ever get a bear, throw them marshmallows.

I never knew a dog could be so occupied with squirrels! I say tether him, too! sam

Are you sure Ben and Mr. Graysome aren't in some Odd way related. Well

yes I suppose they are. considering that your wife and I have exactly the same way of dealing with all creatures great and small. Here too Chipmunks and Squirrels Own  the deck and the gardens and trees and well everything really.

So to Ben, a squirrel is a force of evil, and the green ball is his

superpower sphere, enabling him to leap tall bushes at a single bound, etc... You could name the fuzzy devil Lex Luthor. I am relieved to know it was not a giant prowling owl haunting your deck.

WEll Naut I suppose he is basically a hunting dog, squirrels are pretty fly I have watched a cat trying to pounce on one but it is a no chancer. Ben might find he would get a nasty nip if he got too close, they are a bit different to a green ball.

Squirrels are making quite the impression on him, I see. I never thought about the territorial aspect.
