Sounds like a great deal of tip-toeing going rather than simply enforcing the rules and protocol of a courtroom.

I agree that the Laws of the country are to be respected first and foremost especially if you are a citizen there. I don't understand how anyone can presume that their religious beliefs are to be respected in a Court of Law trying you for an offence meted out outside of religious beliefs. I personally think Sharia Law has no jurisdiction on anyone except perhaps the muslims themselves and even them some of their laws are so absurd. I mean I am truly tired that muslims see it fit that we must respect their beliefs and look at ours with scorn.
