{ For myself Naut put it in perspective: political or geographical but in any event these are serious issues with consequences for the world.  BC-A, Bill’s R®st

I am learning a lot about this history, something that I have not been familiar with.

"The mandate document formalised the creation of two distinct British protectorates - Palestine, as a national home for the Jewish people under direct British rule, and Transjordan, an Emirate governed semi-autonomously from Britain under the rule of the Hashemite family."

Seems to me the entire situation should be made clear by Britain again, they made those protectorates so why are they not militarily present in Israel solving the problems Israel lives with. Seems to me Obama doesn't care, for him it's not an American responsibility right?

Anyway you have caused me to read up a bit on the situation prior to which I too just thought Palistinians were from Palestine and Israel was created by Britain on land purchased from Palestine and then kicked Palistinians out.

I think it's all a sham and Britain should have a responsibility to solve this sham.

This is an extremely interesting series of posts, Nautikos. What would happen to the descendants of the fake refugees if they were ever to be recognized as such? Where would they call 'home'?

Although Mr Pipes has some very valid points, the refugees issue will not hold water. The return of the first ones in 1948 and the establishment of the country is clearly recorded in the Bible as is the return of all of them. There will be a war and most will be killed; however, not all and the country will be very powerful again over the entire world. It may sound like strangeness; however, from the sale of Joseph to the return of the people the first time all the way to the present has been recorded and is true and will come to fruition.

Unfortunately Mr. Nides position is an appointed one. The only way to vote him out is to vote out Mr. Obama, which would be a huge step to help Israel.

I have enormous sympathy with Israel and wish for them to keep their home

land but there are many sides to this complicated situation and ancient feuds that I couldn't begin to write of. but you keep writing for it is most interesting to read what is being said.
