Maybe We Should All Discuss This Calmly, Over A Round Of 20 0z. Drinks....
I agree with sam444 on this one. I know the argument goes that obesity affects health care costs and therefore affects us all, but couldn’t this sort of thing backfire? I mean, couldn’t a person buy two drinks, perhaps one before or after attending the theater? Not only does the added expense of two purchases needlessly hurt poorer people, but if a person drinks two 12 oz. drinks, they actually take in more calories than they would have by drinking a single 18 or 20 oz drink!
Besides, a 16 oz. Coke isn’t necessarily a cup with 16 ounces of Coke in it. In many theaters, they use a lot of ice….

I read this earlier and some people try to impose their will on others and it makes no sense to me whatsoever! sam

I can not believe all of this sort of thing that has been happening with the fast food industry and New York City. No wonder so many are moving away.

I'm not sure if even Winston Smith could have predicted all of this! Our rights and freedoms have been eroding for years! It will be somewhat interesting, scary but interesting, to see what happens when we hit rock bottom!

R Bloomberg’s doing all this in his extra term that he got himself. It’s Big Brother. It’s the health movement that has gotten out of hand. They missed the first investments like Coca-Cola. I was an organic gardener but the publisher of Prevention Robert Rodale was killed in an auto accident in the Soviet Union. I wrote a paper for economics on organic gardening in China. But I in the Christian tradition don’t have an issue with modern foods. Everything does break down because nothing is permanent in the world. Actually the fat in an Angus burger breaks down the sugar. I’m using the principle that allows diabetics to eat ice cream. I agree that food choices are individual. For children parents should treat moderation. But to force people threatens the liberty in the American tradition and Constitution. BC-A, Bill’s R®st
