This is a question that could spark a VERY long conversation. I think it's possible. But the shrinks keep telling us we marry someone like our mother. If she's cold and abusive, that's the kind of "love" we know. If she's loving and supportive, we gravitate toward someone like that. Which could explain why lucky families seem to have a good ongoing relationship and others are not so fortunate.

Sounds a good foundation for a book Pat. You know the characters, well better than most. I wonder if women are attracted primarily by traits of a lost father figure not realising the downside. Only wondering?
