Re: ReTaps:

I see.  That's the way we filled our galvanized wash tubs when we were kids.  Buckets of water.  then we would play with water guns or tin cups of water to throw on one another in the hot summer.

It's amazing what some people do...It's also amazing how cruel fate truly can be.

Re:

I agree Lion but iot is all a farce, If I had a tap at the bottom of the garden I need not struggle down with water and those who who claim not to beable to walk and take six people out joyriding can use a hose in wild abandoment. Put up for Prime minister.

Re:

Well Jay as our Lion said they had only to use buckets.

Love the poems, especially the second.  I don't have too much sympathy for the paddling pool owners given that the hosepipe ban was published and all they had to do was man up and fill the pool with buckets.  teh exercise would probably have done them good too

A thousand pound fine, that's about 2500 us dollars isn't it CCT? Shocking, but the poetry cheered me up. Did you see that Shobanna is back?

Re: I always thought your country was rainy and overcast most of the time.

Well Pat in the old days each house had a well as you know or the village pump.

We actually had a well as in those days houses were few and far between and being on limestone I suspect there were many springs, the only niggling thought is we are below the cemetery as it is on raised ground and well you know. There have been cases of folk making their own borehole but it is acknowledged that this lowers the water level.

Of course the main reason is too many people being crammed into an island  fifty years ago it would not have been a problem. I have a cunning plan.

Re: Bright Irish

Hi  B.I. sorry dear we use it in a different context  perhaps drift off to sleep, if you get my drift. Honestly though I take any remark seriously, it has always been my point that helpful criticism is paramount to improving one's poetry.I will try to be more discreet, and yes Archie has got to buckle in , he will want to enter my flowers in shows and it is more legit if he helps.

ReTaps:

Taps the point is one is not alowed a to use a hose pipe to fill the pool, some people are so lazy they do not think of filling a few pails and it would be good for the kids to help do the chore, alright lover I'll call it Taps.

What good is it to have a kiddies paddlepool if one is not allowed to fill it?

I love love love the color of this flower.

Hummingbird Sometimes, I know that something is missed while interruping each others humor but the thought of you drifting off does not strike my funny bone. The flower is lovely today and the poetry is delightful as usual. It's good and hopefully true that you are going to get help with the garden and chores. Be Well!

'You ripple softly through my thoughts' - a wonderful picture you have painted with those words, CCT. And like Pat - I thought your country didn't lack rain? And boy-oh-boy, the owners of that kiddie pool must have p*ssed off a city councillor...badly!!

I always thought your country was rainy and overcast most of the time.

It seems odd to read that your community must ration water, forbid the use of garden hoses, fine people for filling up a child's swimming pool. I'm wondering if there's a possibility, in addition to rain barrels and water buts, if you could legally sink a well and pump your own water for use in the greenhouse and gardens.

A thousand pounds punishment just for filling a child's swimming pool?  How ridiculous!  Still, it's a beautiful flower you've shared with us and excellent poems as well.

Please know that even if I'm unable to visit you or comment as often as I'd like to, I'm still thinking of you!
