Yes, everything happens for a reason. It looks like disaster was averted ( possessions can be replaced . . . lives cannot! ) Glad everyone was alright!
Too bad about the calf.

I am so glad that you and your family are okay. They used to say that they didn't happen here until one came through and tore up the half the city.

Adnhor how lucky, I bet he did not get grumbled at for having a beer. We had a small one here recently and scared everyone even a tiddler wrecked roofs and knocked trees over. You certainly must go and have a few with him but stay the night do not drive.

My goodness, I believe the phrase here is never say never! How utterly frightening! I would do the same as you and raise a beer to the beer that may have saved his life! The weather can be phenomenal at times! I would have been thinking the same as you and your son for I always think of tornadoes in the mid section of the US for the most part! So nice that all is well on this very close call! And hail to the angels that look over you, too! sam

Oh boy! I'm so glad everyone is okay! It sure is unusual for tornadoes to hit your area. Even we here just east of Toronto don't usually get any. The worst tornado in Eastern Ontario occurred in '85, up in Barrie, where wide swaths of the town were flattened...

Wow! Those are supposed to happen here in this area, not where you are. Something has gotten turned around I'm thinking.

I am so thankful all of you are fine. Don't ever ignore tornado warnings just because you are not accustomed to them. I live where they are about as regular as snow is to you. You and everything around you can be pulverized in seconds. Listen to the reports. Thank God there was no more damage than there was.

Wow! A big whirligig in your neck of the woods.
They didn't used to seem so scary -- I've been living in the Midwest on the fringe of Tornado Alley for the better part of 50 years. The twisters we've had for the past couple of years have been exponentially more terrifying and destructive. I'm so happy you are all okay.
