Re: typical conservative you are

I even debate things with ill-informed leftist anti-Semites, as long as they're civil...

Negotiating Farce is an accurate description.  Focus and solve own problems well before insertion in the problems of others to a high degree.

Re: do you mean Palestine

Two points:
1. Don't bother trying to give me lessons in history, okay? LOL
2. Write posts in your blog, where you can write anything you want, not in mine!

For me, God will not be willing and they waste their efforts! Regarding Obama, he has to go and sooner rather than later will help us all! sam

do you mean Palestine

was void of people before WWI?

You history is a bit skewed in that regard.

There have been Arabs there since the early centuries of the present era.

They built Jerusalem and the mosques and allowed Christians to have Holy Places there -- this since the Byzantine Empire left there -- we are talking about around 500 - 700 A.D.

a couple of things here

first - abouit the annihilationof Israel -- this has been a policy of the Arab World sinde 1947 -- Egypt, Jorday, Syria and I suppose other allies attacked Israel -- 1947, 1967, 1973, with the intention of such -- so Iran is not unique in this distinction.  It is just that the other countries failed and now have made somewhat of a peace.  I feel that Iran is rather behind the times in this -- and fanatical -- and it would be a useless exercise.  But there are reasons for the Arab World to have difficulties with Israel's Existence (see my blog, THE PACIFIST).

Secondly, how do you propose that we take Iran?  Sanctions are spotty, at best, with other countries needing to trade with Iran.  Invasion would be disastrous to our economy and our youth.  Iraq was very devasting in that manner.  Iran has a larger land surface than Iraq and Afghanistan combined.  We have already gone into unprecedented debt fighting two wars that should not have been fought.  A war with Iran would ruin us financially and give us more young people with  mental and physical disabilities.

We made Iran an enemy in the first place, using our CIA to depose a duly elected president and place the Shah back in power and then train his goon squads in torture and other basically illegal tactics to keep the population in check.

Again, see my blog THE PACIFIST for an overview of Israel's place in the Middle East.

That's an excellent metaphor for Obama there in light of this article.
