I love this post.
I don't love squirrels.
They are bothersome critters that get one's tomatoes before they are ripe enough to pick for oneself. They even make holes in one's roof eaves and get into one's attic where they have their babies and make skittering noises continuously. Once they take over, it is very difficult to get rid of them.

Maybe they're just like a couple I once knew, when I was living in the Maritimes, who fought just as passionately as they loved one another! It was heir way of being in the world, and they were perfectly happy...

No this isn't the end. Not until he has chased her off his patch. We have
been watching some terrible wars out the back along the tree line here too. Chipmunk wars as well. You are like me, try not to interfer but sometimes one can't help themselves try to care for the girlies.

Pat What you want is a potato gun whack that old Bully one. It would not hurt him, we used to have them as kids, but they might be considered dangerous these days. I bet one of your sons could make you one, but be it on your head.
