It would be good for your daughter to put a budget together so she can see where the money is going. Sometimes we can't have the things we want when we get behind on the bills! It is better for him to work because there is great satisfaction in getting caught up even if one has to work more hours than they really want! I wish them all the best! sam

I had a good job when I married and I kept it until my first son was born three years later. We lived on hubby's paycheck and saved mine for buying a house. Then I was a homebody raising four boys and keeping hubby happy until sons were teens and able to tend to themselves.

and didn't think things through once too. I am thrilled to see SIL. is wanting to settle down and get ahead of the Bills and make a success of life. At least have his home and car and food on the table.
The Gov. help is wonderful when one is struggling but it can be a trap. One does much better even if they have to work really hard, to get out of that mentality. I was brought up that it is good to be paying tax. You are standing on your own and getting somewhere if you are paying a certain amount of tax....oh and those refunds are great.
