Quite honestly there isn't much difference in a short sale and a foreclosure! The biggest problem you will face is you might be liable for the balance of the loan after it is eventually sold! That's the only real advantage to a short sale! I doubt they will come after you for the difference because of the way they look now after the robo-signing ordeal! It would be good to get it sold though! If they do sell then ask for them to not put the past due payments on your record because it will stay there for at least 6.5 years! That in itself is very damaging to your credit because it will have an impact for at least 3 years before it begins to lessen! sam
