Just catching up here, and very glad I am! The poem touches me, especially the last verse...And I can see the old boys at the barber's ...

Re: Re:KABU
yes taking my pill, how about you. and i don't know what those flowers are with me tulips. They come up each year and flower through the spring then just have green leaves until it gets cold when they die away again. They were here when I arrived. I like them because they are reliable and early flowers are nice.

Re:KABU
Lo Kabu, now if you had floated your boat with cherubs, I mean filled your garden, there might be a good opening for an assute Gnome maker and there would not be the embarrass de choix.

Yes they used to do a lot of that Pat, of course big ears soon learned to decipher those codes.

Re: Chiff.Chaff.
Alright Wiley I am pleased to tell you that I have got my water pump fixed up and managed to empty a 200 L but in approximately 5 min. I transferred the water to the bottom of the garden and can draw it from another but, to save carrying all that way by hand.

Re: SAM
Thank you Sam, the longer he can hang around less likely he would go back there. It would not be worth it. Once should be enough I would imagine.

How utterly realistic on the rural chatter! And I loved the end to the Jane poem!
I talked to Christopher today and he told me he hurt his shoulder and back in Afghanistan! He has to go see a V.A. doctor and then hopefully he can get the needed therapy! And he is going to transfer to the unit he was with in Afghanistan and he should be able to avoid a second tour of duty and get out of the Army next March! I can't wait until that day comes! sam

Chiff.Chaff.
I think the throat bite marks would have been cool for ya, and I liked the barbershop conversation going on, and the flowers as usual. Have a great weekend old chap.

the first poem is ethereal. Botticelli cherubs, the second so different
so...real world a boy trying desperately to be a man and learn from men who are having-him on a bit. excelent post and I always love the flowers.

Barber shop conversations, where the old gents talk in code
so the young boy (little pitchers have big ears) won't understand the dalliance they mention. If that's not what you wrote, it seems that's what I read. I like its evocative hints.
Write on!

I can just hear that heartbeat...I enjoy reading different conversations. They show a lot about character.
