'Bullshit' is the belief that you are superior to others because of your achievements. That was the gist of my article. It doesn’t refer to Westerners in general or you in particular. It refers to Western chauvinists. And nowhere did I say all things Western or all Westerners are bad. I said “many.”

I agree with much of what you say...
However, it should be noted that while many of white european roots buy into the attitude you're speaking of, there is equally a pitfall on your side, where resentment and the deeply-felt insult have led many into, paraphrasing UJ, painting the protest with too broad a stroke.
Now I have to go blog on this topic, lest I take up too much room here.

I have many black friends, I always have since 1958 and I am offended by the broad brush with which you paint, as if the WEST has done no good at all...Bullshit say I.

This post is making me think hard. Having taken a course called The Cold War in Southern Africa, the West did more harm to good to the Southern reigion of Africa.
