- Go to It’s About Time…Part VII
Wow, so many wonderful comments, Naut..hence my axiom...
East is East
West is west;
With mutual effort,
The twain shall meet :)!
Amen, carry on, best, Ash

I am probably wasting your time with my comments as I honestly
can't grasp the physics and as for flying fast and coming back to find oneself in the future...wouldn't one be aged or dead anyway?

Naut if the universe is always expanding could Time be like a river taking all within the flow.

I can see how eternity would not fit into your explanation or search there of as it pertains to time. I have all the background I need to justify eternity, why would I then be concerned with seconds, minutes, hours, days, months or years when at my last breath on earth I shall transcend all those time measurements into one eternal life as a spirit in a new body. That does not defy Physics just predates such measurements.

I can see how eternity would not fit into the area of physics but I still get a better feel for time when I think in terms of the eternal. I suspect it is about poetry for me and how I embrace the universe. Then I ponder absolute time and relative time! But relative time for me is mind espanding and thus I embrace the eternal! I probably take time to be relative due to my spirituality where the eternal is a focus! sam

Unfortunately I did not take physics in high school. It'll be interesting to see how it all fits together.

Naut
I had to do some serious “catch-up” reading to leave a semi-intelligent comment. Although the hands on a clock or the months on the pages of a calendar are often used to calculate time – time is timeless. It is not ours to keep, lend, or share mostly because it’s not ours to begin with. Time can be both finite and endless, slow and swift. It can, however, be wasted, abused, or taken for granted. Time in reference to the “eternal” is even less measurable. Most importantly, we should live each day acutely aware that we should fill our time wisely and mindfully (whatever that looks like for each person) for it can be snatched away in a blink.

And then there's the old theory: Time will tell.
And this kind of theoretical scientific stuff is just the thing to drive me to drink... :)

This is honestly beyond my understanding but perhaps if I keep reading something will click.

It'd be nice/ instructive to read other illumined folks' comments/views...
as well on this interesting topic..eg, UtahJ, TAPS, Kabu, Sam, Wiley..don't you think?

Poor Kabu, I admit it, out of my depth, I just don't grasp physics.
I do like Ash's concepts though.
