I now put phone numbers into my cell phone contact list...It's getting tricky to remember phone numbers with Maryland using three area codes.

With the advent of "speed dials," people have gotten away from "memorizing" whole numbers, although it would be in people's best interests to keep exercising their brains with simple memory tests such as these. Years ago, my brother, who used to work for AT&T, had read that the average person's mind can only "remember" up to ten numbers at a time, thus our telephone number format of 3-3-4. Writing phone numbers down is one thing, but it is probably better to do your best to apply them to memory.
