I am happy you recognise that it is some doctors only who misbehave. In any case the entry was about bloggers and blogging, not doctors.

In the good old days doctors used to be paid in kind: a basket of eggs here , a chicken there or some home made biscuits. Then enter the middle men: Medical Aids, Medical Insurance. Managed Care companies with increasing annual premiums and subscriptions and ever dwindling benefits.The patient can no longer negotiate directly with his family doctor to accept payment in kind.

Not all doctors are quacks, but all quacks are doctors. If there is disrespect for doctors over here, it is it is because of the bad press they get because of reporters who paint everybody with the same brush.

I was at the doc today and that sums it up for me, too! I had to sign papers so they can do their extra funky billing which drives me mad! Whatever my insurance doesn't cover, instead of accepting the payment as in the old days they bill me! UGH! sam
